garment care
Alpaca fiber is at the heart of AYNI, a natural luxury that brings warmth, comfort, and longevity to every piece. Known as a living fiber, alpaca has the remarkable ability to resist odors and self-clean, making it one of the most sustainable and low-maintenance fibers in the world. With the right care, your Ayni garment will accompany you beautifully for years to come.

Washing
We recommend gentle hand washing as the best way to care for your alpaca garments. Avoid sudden temperature changes and excessive agitation while wet, as these can cause shrinking or felting. If you use a machine wash, select a delicate cycle and cool water to reduce risk of damage.
Drying
Do not use bleach or harsh detergents. We suggest air-drying your garment flat, away from direct sunlight, and reshaping it gently while damp. Avoid tumble drying, but if necessary, use a very low temperature setting for a brief moment. Once dry, smooth seams by hand and, if needed, touch up with a cool iron.
Dry Cleaning
For the best results, take your Ayni garments to a professional cleaner experienced with alpaca fibers. If you are cleaning a matching set, do so together to maintain color consistency. Request a fresh solvent, low heat, and no tumbling during the process.
Storage
Ensure your garment is completely dry before storing. Protect it from moths by placing it in a breathable cotton bag, cedar chest, or airtight container. Natural repellents like dried lavender or cinnamon sticks are excellent alternatives to mothballs.
At Ayni, we believe true luxury lies in care: for your clothes, for the people who craft them, and for the planet that provides their materials.
You look nicer when you wear your values. #BeAYNI
