ayni certify
True to the values of our name AYNI we strive to give back and one of the ways we do so is to offer training and certification to our collaborators.
In 2012 we established the “Ayni certify” program in collaboration with Peru’s ministry of employment. The idea was inspired by the artisans in the small community of Amantani on lake Titicaca in Peru. Isolated on an island far from the main cities, Ayni began to train and provide work for the local people because their traditions were being abandoned for more profitable labor.
With the help of government funding, these men and women receive formal training and certificates that give them opportunities to create their own businesses and foster a sustainable and rewarding economic model.
The objective is to give recognition and value to individual labor competences and contribute to the empowerment and self-esteem of the individuals, we want to create job opportunities, improve living standards while assuring that our products reach the expected quality.
The certification center is a way of giving back and there is one important element that connects everything and everyone in the value chain; love. The kind of love that embrases differencies and diversity and values authentic relations. The unconditional love for family, the love that we share between like-minded people when feeling part of a community and a higher purpose and the essential love for one self allowing us to love someone back and make a difference around us.
At Ayni we consider design and craft as equal. Craft practices and social design processes are our key areas of innovation. Transforming and translating culture and heritage through contemporary yet timeless design that is understood and appreciated in our modern complex lives around the world. It's part of our DNA to communicate through our collections using storytelling to share our values and create awareness about arts and crafts and good practices while we encourage you to wear your values. New design systems will be built on partnership, and move from empathy to empowerment.
